Copy the StatCounter code.
Log into your Joomla website.
Click "Global Configuration"
Temporarily change the "Default WYSIWYG Editor" to "No Editor" - this can be changed back after you have installed StatCounter - and click "Save".
Click "Module Manager" under the "Extensions" menu.
Now click "New" to add a module to your site.
Select the "Custom HTML" option and then click "Next".
Enter StatCounter as the "Title" for your module. Click "No" beside "Show Title" and then select a "Position" for your StatCounter. (The footer area or equivalent is recommended.)
Now scroll down and paste your StatCounter code into the "Custom Output" section of the module.
Click "Save" and that's it!

Your StatCounter will now begin recording visitor information and, if you chose the visible option, your counter will be visible on your website!
